I happened to have enough free time today to check out the apple store and have a look at the new iPhone 4s, and its new OS iOS5.
The most notable change in the updated OS is the notifications center. Almost strangely similar to the 'pull-down' notifications center we have already seen in the Android OS 'Gingerbread', it provides users with regular email, event and social networking reminders you may not have otherwise remembered. While this is a good (yet possibly already thought of by Microsoft) feature, I also had a chance to test the precision in Apples new 'Siri' service. Siri is good enough to comprehend with common tasks such as 'Do I need to wear a jacket today', but overall I personally was not impressed by the precision in Apple's new 'killer' feature. I asked many a questions in which Siri did not return the correct words in which I had spoken. I will try to get a video up as soon as possible demonstrating 'Siri' working at its prime. The new iPhone 4S does not appear a dramatic improvement on the already popular smartphone iPhone 4, however initial sales do not indicate Apple fans have lost faith in the company. Rumours already indicate the iPhone 5 could be set for release in late 2012 but I will be sure to keep you updated when more news on that is made official!
